We are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager for our client based in Cape Town.

**Responsibilities**:

- Agree on an annual maintenance plan with the client that ensures an even flow of work throughout the year.
- Plan and schedule resources to ensure that the agreed plan is carried out.
- Liaise with clients/planners to ensure that the maintenance plan is incorporated into their schedule.
- Ensure that work is done within the client resource level approvals.
- The Monitor progress of the plan versus actual with subordinates, representatives of the client and any third parties.
- Manage large and small scope variations on the project.
- Give Project Manager input on estimates.
- Select resources for execution including staff, equipment, materials, consumables etc.
- Manage sub-contractors performing various prefabrication work.
- Manage and coordinate the construction of projects on site.
- Manage the completion and handover phase with client and third party.
- Manage and monitor adherence to cost budgets and ensue that actual spend does not deviate from budget.
- Ensure that maintenance is performed in accordance with the relevant codes.
- Manage revisions to specifications as required by clients and ensure that drawings are revised to reflect this.
- Ensure that build of new tanks complies with relevant codes and specifications.
- Meet audit standards imposed by the client system.
- Manage the selection process.
- Manage individual performance using appraisal system.
- Ensure that employee conduct is monitored and managed.
- Manage and monitor skills development programmes and maintain an up-to-date skills matrix.
- Track health and sick leave of employees.
