- Relevant ECD qualification or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role of a similar supervisory or childcare role
- A deep love for children and an understanding of their developmental milestones and needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to take initiative, work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- A valid Police Clearance and Child Protection Clearance Certificate
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Physically able to supervise active children in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Experience in managing group dynamics among children

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise, engage and care for Grade R children during aftercare hours
- Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages play, creativity and exploration
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities that support development through play
- Assist children with snacks and basic hygiene routines
- Monitor attendance and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians and school staff
- Support positive behaviour management with patience and encouragement
- Attend relevant meetings and contribute to a team-based approach to care
- Respond calmly and effectively in case of minor injuries or emergencies
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and solution-focused in a busy environment
