**HCM Specialist**

Human capital management (HCM) is a relatively new field of study that focuses on the management of human resources in an organization. Human capital managers are responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, training, compensation, benefits, performance management, and more.

Human capital management is a broad term that encompasses many different types of activities. In general, human capital managers may be tasked with any number of duties related to managing the people who work for their company. This could include anything from developing hiring strategies to implementing employee retention programs.

**Human Capital Manager Job Duties**

**A human capital manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include**:

- Providing services to employees such as counseling, coaching, and mentoring to help them develop their skills and reach their goals
- Developing and implementing employee training programs that align with company priorities
- Reviewing employee records to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
- Providing human resources support to managers by helping them create job descriptions, hire new employees, and conduct performance evaluations
- Working with staff members to create development plans for employees who are underperforming or who are at risk of being terminated
- Assessing employee needs through performance reviews and exit interviews to identify areas for improvement or intervention
- Supporting managers in handling employee complaints or grievances by providing guidance on company policies or procedures
- Recommending solutions to issues that arise between employees, including conflicts or potential disciplinary actions
- Overseeing the company’s benefits program to ensure that employees are aware of their options and receive the appropriate benefits for their needs
