- Responsible for the provision of technical accounting advisory, the preparation of the Group consolidation and Group IFRS compliant reports to ensure that fair and reliable financial reporting and disclosures are issued to stakeholders in compliance with legal and reporting requirements.**Requirements**:

- CA(SA)

**Experience**
- At least 6-8 years of experience
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and risk management principles
- Group consolidation and reporting experience essential
- Technical accounting experience essential
- Prior IFRS consolidation systems experience advantageous
- Knowledge of Financial services industry
- Relevant financial systems
- Accounting practises
- Relevant office computer software

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Provide strategic input to the development of Financial Reporting strategy
- Drive and/or assist Group IFRS specific projects where necessary
- Initiate corrective action in business units when IFRS reporting and other regulations are not met appropriately
- Assist in the development of others through on the job training, review and feedback mechanisms
- If there are any changes to legal entity structure, ensure that the Group as a whole remains compliant
- Identify, recommend and implement ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the current reporting process
- Co-ordinate, consolidate and review the Group IFRS accounts for each reporting period in respect of high-risk areas of the process
- Review complex and judgemental IFRS accounting treatments submitted to Group by business
- Prepare and review Group financial statements in compliance with IFRS and other reporting/regulatory requirements and timelines to ensure fair and reliable financial reporting and disclosures are issued to stakeholders
- Review financial statements for compliance with IFRS and other reporting/regulatory requirements
- Assist business units with the implementation of IFRS technical accounting conclusions reached in opinions
- Participation in ad hoc projects reporting or technical advisory projects where the tasks are of a high complexity
- Maintain and update Group technical accounting frameworks, standards, policies and processes in line with industry standards and regulations
- Provide specialist IFRS technical advice and support to stakeholders in the structuring and execution of complex transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, internal restructures and funding solutions
- Provide technical accounting advisory support to business during the due diligence phase of transactions in respect of complex acquisitions
- Provide and review quantitative information and detailed analysis to internal stakeholders to assist with the management of investor queries and expectations
- Co-ordinate sign-off with auditors in respect of technical accounting opinions
- Co-ordinate with auditors in respect of the consolidation and financial statements
- Contribute towards the implementation of new IFRS standards including the development of technical accounting frameworks, standards, disclosures, policies and processes
- Develop, maintain and distribute reporting frameworks and templates that comply with IFRS and other regulatory requirements including reporting pack templates
- Effectively co-ordinate and review information submitted to external publications e.g. for JSE, integrated report and SENS announcements
- Co-ordinate and review information submitted for internal distribution for relevant stakeholders, Exco, Board and Sub-Board (e.g. segment results meetings. ,ad hoc reporting)
- Take corrective action when standards are not met
- Incorporate new international companies and new businesses into the reporting and budgeting financial processes
- Improve the efficiency of the reporting processes and enhance the set of available reports
- Manage the reporting process and reporting tools
- Enhance the value of reporting to Actuarial
