Specialist: Group Investment Asset Reporting

- To prepare and provide accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting to all stakeholders.**Requirements**:

- Relevant B-Commerce degree - Chartered Accountant
- Minimum 3 -5 years working experience in financial services preferably Asset Management and Life Insurance
- In-depth understanding of financial instruments
- Understanding of asset management administration systems
- In-depth understanding of IFRS7 and IFRS10 as well as general accounting practices around investment assets/financial instruments

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- To check the financial investment asset reporting data provided to GIS by source data providers for reasonability, completeness, and accuracy.
- To check that all queries are either explained satisfactorily or corrected by the effected business areas as relevant.
- To maintain a high integrity database.
- To enrich, organise and analyse large quantities of data as per requests from stakeholders.
- To maintain a high level of technical competence in the areas of IFRS and FSCA reporting.
- To maintain a high level of knowledge of investment products and client mandates to present meaningful analysis and information on request and to facilitate the identification of errors through reasonability checks.
- To maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to deadlines in terms of compiling and providing reporting in terms of Service Level Agreements and Group reporting deadlines.
- Interpret the attributes of all new financial instruments to ensure correct accounting in terms of IFRS as well as correct classification for reporting to the various statutory bodies.
- Responsible for updating JDE and other relevant accounting and reporting systems with relevant investment related data.
- Updating all relevant reporting platforms with enriched data for the purposes of FSCA reporting such as QRT’s.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of all general ledger and other reporting requirements
- Responsible for client liaison (generally query resolution related)
- Complete IFRS7 related working papers in agreed format to all legal owners on GIS platforms.
- Assist MMI Group Reporting Team in compiling the valuation techniques for annual financial statement purposes.
- Provide credit ratings on S&P national scale in agreed format to all legal owners on GIS platforms.
- Tax related administrative functions: CGT, S24J, DWT
- IFRS10 and related functions:

- Complete the Fund Consolidations in accordance with agreed scope and the IFRS7 working papers and supplementary packs for the fund subsidiaries.
- Complete selected consolidation packs on IBM consolidation tool, eg Controller, in accordance with pack instructions and Group Investment policies and guidelines.

**General**
- Audit liaison with internal and external audit during interim and year end reporting periods.
- Functional and user acceptance testing of all relevant systems as and when required.
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy and adherence to MMH Group policies
- Documenting processes and procedures
