**Key Performance Areas**:
Manage Business and contractual localization Targets.

Screening and evaluation of suppliers to determine capabilities.

Manage the buying process for the spare parts, materials or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods

Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvements activities

Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships

Ensure compliance to the company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during the supplier negotiations and contracts award process

Explore alternate sources for goods and materials (preference to local)

Prepare Purchase Orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements

Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality ,delivery or invoice issues

Provide Technical/commercial assistance to buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge.

Liaise with suppliers, and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations

**Minimum Requirements or other Relevant Qualifications/Experience**:
Formal qualification in Engineering/Supply Chain Management /Procurement or related field.

Professional operational experience in Project Management/Supply Chain Management/ procurement of material goods and services.

Coal Fired Plant Experience

Sound knowledge of the South African Manufacturing and Machining Industry.

Experience in negotiations with suppliers.

Experience in strategic purchasing, in the selection and evaluation of suppliers.

Ability to add value ,reduce costs and make business improvements

Contract management and supplier experience.

Computer Literacy.

Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).

Sage 300

Strong Technical knowledge of Burner ,Mills and Feeder Spare parts experience an advantage

Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines

Commercially and financially aware.

Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.

A developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant purchasing and sourcing concepts.
