Requirements
- Plumbing Trade Test certificate in accordance with S26D of the

Skills Development Act, Act 97 of 1998. (Red seal)
- Five years’ post-apprenticeship experience
- Code C driver’s licence
- PrDP will be advantageous
- SAP literacy will be advantageous
- Knowledge of reticulation networks and plumbing/construction

processes as well as Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Physically fit and able-bodied
- Ability to lift heavy manhole covers, carry heavy equipment and fit

into confined spaces
- Required to work in all weather conditions
- Required to work outside normal working hours during emergencies,

perform standby duties and planned overtime
- Willingness to enter confined areas.

Key Performance Areas
- Network control and monitoring to ensure optimal operation of

water

reticulation system
- Troubleshooting to ensure faults are detected and repaired and

functionality restored with mínimal disruption
- Inspections to ensure maintenance and repair sequences are

efficient and effective
- Activating and coordinating appropriate technical response teams

to

ensure that defects are attended to with optimal efficiency.
- Performs activities within a trade that involves designing,

constructing, repairing, fabricating, fault finding and diagnostics.

Uses the full range of appropriate tools and equipment.
- Works independently and required to supervise staff.
