**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a competent individual to manage the execution of routine garden and grounds maintenance activities. This post is stationed in Elsenburg, Stellenbosch.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 1-2 year post school qualification (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years supervisory level experience in a garden and grounds maintenance environment; A valid driving licence.

NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

**Recommendation**:
Ability to drive a vehicle with a trailer.

**Key Performance Areas**: Ensure an effective grounds maintenance unit; Manage the execution of general routine activities regarding the upkeep of gardens and grounds; Implement general financial administrative prescripts; Perform administrative and related functions in the unit; Manage the workshop and storage of tools and equipment; Render assistance with the provisioning of clean drinking water and the moving of offices and furniture; Render standby duties and overtime.
**Competencies**:
Knowledge of horticulture or agriculture; Skills needed: Proven computer literacy; Communication (written and verbal); Problem solving and decision making; Leadership abilities and assertiveness; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Remuneration**:
R 294 321 per annum (Salary Level 7)
