Duties/Pligte
**Position: Five -year Fixed-Term Position as Full-Time Junior Lecturer**Teaching and administration of general undergraduate engineering modules;- Supervision of final year engineering projects;- Performing basic and/or applied research focused in research areas relevant to the Department where the appointment will be made;- Collaborating with existing research groups within the Department;- Performing support, administrative and representative roles in the Department.
Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- BEng or BScEng four-year bachelor's degree in Engineering, recognised by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) to qualify for registration as a
***Professional Engineer;Appropriate master's degree (typically an MEng or MScEng) from, or enrolled for a PhD in Engineering at, a recognised academic university;- A strong academic track-record;- The ability and desire to complete a PhD in Engineering on a part-time basis within the five-year contract period;- The ability to communicate clearly in at least English and to teach courses and modules as part of the typical undergraduate engineering programme;- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in teams;

Recommendation/Aanbeveling- Appropriate industry experience;- An NRF rating as a young researcher;- Registration as a Professional Engineer;- Previous tertiary teaching experience, both at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;- Ability to function in a multidisciplinary environment;
