Introduction
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with proven retail management experience and the ability to work within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. This focused and experienced retail professional, must share our commitment to fashion, quality and customer service excellence and will assist in maximizing turnover and profits; controlling expenses within budget and improving the visual appeal and customer service of all stores based in his/her area. Johannesburg or Pretoria.
Duties & Responsibilities
GenerationEnsure stores make their monthly targets.
Implementing Action plans and Disciplinary for poor performing stores.
Manage the focused stores and ensure you and your Trainee Area manager are focusing their time on these stores.
Putting in full action plans and deadlines to increase these stores.
Ensuring all promotions, markdowns are executed timeously and accurately as per instructions.
Making all staff aware of sales Targets per month.
Motivate and build staff morale ensuring a happy trading environment.
MerchandisingTrain and equip staff with the necessary skills to execute requirements regarding Merchandising, Promotion and Markdown execution.
Ensuring stores feedback execution of Markdowns and Promotions on time and fulfilled as per instructions.
Stock LossTo ensure supervised hanger counts are personally done by yourself and submitted correctly.
Reporting stores hanger counts weekly
Ensuring your SM’s and staff all know how to generate a hanger count as per Policy and Procedures.
Ensuring stock loss is kept below 0.5% of stores Turnover (less Vat).
Putting control measures in place to prevent stock loss and assisting the business.
Key ControlsEnsure Key Controls are accurate and an honest reflection of store findings and reported daily
Ensuring that written instructions are given to all store associates based on your findings in the Key Controls.
Ensuring that follow up visits are done to see that the above written instructions are completed.
Ensuring the necessary disciplinary measures are taken in the event of noncompliance by staff.
ReportingEnsuring you report daily.
Ensuring hanger counts are submitted accurately and timeously and actions are taken according to company policy and procedures.
Keeping an accurate daily sheet for Mileage, store visits
RostersEnsuring you have signed off stores rosters to ensure accuracy
Ensuring this has been submitted on time and any changes are submitted before deadlines for payroll.
HR/CCMATo assist in the employment of capable staff in stores, train them and equip them with knowledge to be able to fulfill their tasks.
To assist in company Disciplinary hearings, CCMA hearings and to ensure you have ensured you have all correct documents to present in these hearings.
Issue necessary Disciplinary to staff who do not abide by company policies and procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Above average knowledge of excel, retail system and general computer skills
**Must be able to run pivot tables and do vlookup function on excel.**
Good communication skills in order to follow up with stores on queries.
Good people skills in order to deal with other departments.
High attention to detail.
Ability to process accurately and work diligently.
Good time management skills and ability to multitask.
Above average analytical, communication and presentation skills.
Highly numerate and able to identify trends.
Min 5 yrs in the retail sector as an Area Manager (apparel/ access / footwear is preferable)
Matric required
Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
Must be able to handle a pressurised environment
Good organisational skills
Need to be accountable, reliable and show leadership ability
Package & Remuneration
R15 000 + Travel & Commission
