Key Responsibilities: -Equipment Management (Servicing & Annual Planner)
- The staff member is responsible for planning and scheduling all servicing of the equipment in their areas. Incident Root cause Analysis
- The staff member is responsible to be identify the root cause of incidents occurring in the area they manage.
Staff Rosters
- The manager is responsible to ensure all staff are rostered correctly to balance the completion of work and overtime. Stock Control
- The manager is responsible to monitor stock usage to ensure mínimal wastage and to manage stock efficiently so that the department is adequately stocked in order to ensure business processes are not compromised. Bioflow Training
- The staff member operates and maintain a biohazard hood. Centrifugation
- The staff member operates and maintain a centrifuge. Cold Chain
- The staff member must follow best cold chain practises at all times, to ensure all samples are processed optimally. DCF Identification
- The staff member identifies all data clarification errors on the laboratory requisition forms or similar documents. Decontamination
- The staff member must be ensure best housekeeping for a clean lab are kept at all times. Filing
- The staff member must file all paperwork in the department, making sure to do this with a high level of accuracy. Freezer
- The staff member does operate and maintain a freezer. Fridge
- The staff member does operate and maintain a fridge. Good Customer Service
- The staff member must at all times be polite to clients and help with all problems presented to them to the best of their ability. Health and Safety
- The staff member must work in accordance to all health and safety aspects as indicated in the group SHEQ manual and the BARC-SA manuals and SOPs. Housekeeping
- The staff member must follow good housekeeping practices in the areas they are working-this includes but is not limited to keeping their areas clean and tidy; cleaning all work stations correctly before and after working in them. Not using cell phones in laboratory areas, keeping all personal belongings in their designated lockers. IATA
- The staff member if expected to perform all work as per IATA requirements. Incident Identification
- The staff member is expected to be able to identify any incidents as soon as they become aware of them. Incompletes
- The staff member is responsible to monitor all incompletes in the area to ensure that no tests are out of the turnaround time as expected by client. Incubator
- The staff member does operate and maintain an incubator. LDMS Incompletes Management
- The staff member is responsible to monitor all LDMS incompletes in the area to ensure that no tests are out of the turn around time as expected by client. LDMS Logging
- The staff member is must to be able to log new samples into LDMS. Outstanding Lists
- The staff member is responsible to monitor the outstanding list to ensure all samples are processed within defined TAT and that the client is informed if for some reason this cannot be achieved. QC Shipment Receipt
- The staff member is expected to be able to receive all shipments of samples arriving at the pre-analytical area of BARC-SA. Sample Receiving
- The staff member does receive samples. Sample Registration The staff member does register a sample as required. Sample Sorting
- The staff member does sort samples as required. Samples Delivery.
- The staff member is expected to be able to sort samples received so they can be correctly delivered to the testing laboratory. Scale
- The staff member is expected to be able to deliver all samples received by BARC so they can be correctly tested. Scanning
- The staff member is expected to perform scanning of all relevant paperwork received in the pre-analytical laboratory daily. Use of LIMS
- All staff at BARC-SA are expected to be able to perform the required functions on Meditech. Incident Escalation
- The staff member is expected to escalate any incidents to their line manager as soon as they become aware of them. Maintain Confidentiality
- The staff member is expected to maintain confidentiality at all times, this confidentiality is inclusive of all functions that occur at BARC-SA, Lancet and CERBA groups. Maintain High Quality
- The staff member is expected to maintain high quality at all times as outlines in the BARC-SA quality manual. Management of Insufficient Samples
- The staff member is responsible to report all insufficient samples to the service team and the project manager. This needs to be done timeously so a new sample can be collected from the participant. Mr Frosty / Strata Cooler Preparation / Maintenance
- The staff member does operate and maintain Mr Frostys and Strata Coolers. PBMC Automated Cell Count
- The staff member should be able to perform an automated cell count. PBMC Manual Cell Count
