Contact person for this position: Amori Prinsloo **POSITION PURPOSE**: To supervise the day-to-day running of the distribution operations; supervise procurement, maintenance, control of vehicles, health & safety, and security of the distribution department; attend to all AARTO demerit points by investing in own personal development. **KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS/OUTPUTS/RESPONSIBILITIES** - Supervise the day-to-day running of the distribution operations - Invest in personal development - Supervise procurement, maintenance, control of vehicles - Adhere to all the policies and procedures - Supervise health & safety and security of the distribution department - Drive performance excellence - Attend to all AARTO demerit points **DIRECT STAKEHOLDERS** - **Internal**: Traders, Human Capital, Cold Store Managers, Group Cold Store Manager, Group Food Safety Manager, Accountants, Debtors and Creditors Clerks, Business Logistics Controller, Distribution Supervisor, Distribution Clerk - **External**: Customers 3PL, Service Providers, Suppliers, State Vet, Labour Broker, PPECB, Auditors **QUALIFICATIONS** - **Minimum**: NQF level 4 or 5 Certificate in supply chain, and/or distribution logistics and/or commerce - (Recognition for prior learning (RPL) based on years of experience and knowledge gained will be granted to those already in the position). - **Preferred**: NQF level 5 Diploma in supply chain, and/or distribution logistics and/or commerce, Degree in Transport & Road Freight - **Minimum**: 2-4 years’ experience in a Supervisor role, in a high-volume Transport operation. - **Preferred**: More than 4 years’ experience in a Supervisor role, in a high-volume Transport operation, within the frozen/chilled food industry. **Technical Competencies Knowledge/Understanding**: - Health and Safety Act - Knowledge of Distribution Routes and Planning - Understanding of the National Road Traffic Act 1996 - AARTO Demerit System - Basic technical understanding of refrigerated loading vehicles and loading specifications - Knowledge of large volume of frozen food delivery - Understanding of how to manage a large vehicle delivery fleet (> 50 vehicles) - Knowledge about the Food Safety Management Systems - Basic technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and vehicle refrigeration **SKILLS**: - Safety management - MS Office on a basic level - Reporting skills - Administrative skills **LEGAL REQUIREMENTS**: - Valid Code B driver’s licence - Passed credit and criminal checks - A Citizen or valid work permit for S.A. - Passed medical exams - Adverse working conditions - Required to work in low temperatures (sub-zero) - Working long hours and weekends Area: Clairwood Durban **Salary**: R 18 000 - R 22 000
