**_ Position Purpose:_**

The GM Enterprise Architect is responsible for the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture. The responsibility includes providing

leadership and direction as well as developing, maintaining and leveraging the Enterprise Strategy and Architecture (EA)

across the organisation to support the Transnet Strategy and focus on business outcomes. The key objective of Strategy and

Architecture is to translate Transnet vision and strategy into effective business capabilities and services.

**_ Position outputs:_**

Develop the Business Architecture Strategy, framework and roadmap for Transnet to create and ensure alignment of ICT to

the business.

Leading the Architectural vision for services and systems across Transnet, ensuring that architecture conforms to and

support the organisations business strategy and Business Architecture.

Formally set up lead the Group-Wide Strategy and Enterprise Architecture (EA) organisation and processes to drive the

rollout of the strategy and EA and capability across the Group.

Strategic Portfolio Alignment to Transnet Strategy including Business needs and Business Case development.

Develop and implement Architecture which supports the various ICT domains which include Business, Applications,

Technology, Data Security.

Define the Governance and Policies for the functioning of the EA capability of Transnet including setting-up and clearing the

Enterprise Architecture Review Council.

Leads the creation or evolution of the Transnet-Wide Enterprise Architecture function or program, including the coordination

of an appropriately balanced pursuit of enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture view points.

Ensure alignment of Enterprise Architecture to business processes within Transnet.

Leads the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technical and

solution architecture requirements; analysing industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on

Transnet.

Analyses the current Transnet business and IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for

improvement.

Ensure that the optimal governance structure and compliance activities are associated with EA compliance.

Leads the development of an implementation plan for the EA, based on Transnet's business requirements and IT strategies;
and the documentation of all the EA design and analysis work.

Consults with the program/projects teams to fit solutions to architecture across all viewpoints.

Promotes the EA process, outcomes and results to the Transnet organisation, including the enterprise's IT and business

leaders; this includes assessing (thorough appropriate metrics) and communicating the achievement and impact of the EA,

as well as leading the development and execution of an EA plan.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**

B Degree in Computer Science and /or Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis or Business Related Study.
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, solution architecture, network
or 10 years of experience in solution architecture, business analysis or business strategic planning.
Demonstrated track record or leading high performance teams towards the successful attainment of challenging goals.
Additional training in organisation change management is highly desirable.
