**VACANCY: TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATOR**

**PRIME PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Contour Logistics (Centurion) are seeking a energetic and dedicated Transport Co-Ordinator with a focus on General Cargo and the ability to generate new business, to join our dynamic team. The primary role of this position is to obtain predominantly new General Cargo customers through networking, cold calling, and other means of generating interest from potential customers. You will be responsible for achieving sales targets for this position and the division, facilitating and managing the logistics of products from point of origin to point of delivery, coordinating transportations of loads and providing excellent service to new customers. The ideal incumbent will provide practical and innovative solutions to the business.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Responsible for administrating and executing all assigned operational responsibilities.

This includes, but is not limited to the following:

- Co-ordinating the transportation of loads, providing service excellence to customers;
- Daily ensuring the accuracy & completeness of loads to be added to the DATATIM system;
- Obtain ad-hoc transport rates as and when required for customers;
- Recommend most cost-effective methods of transportation to customer;
- Oversee timely delivery of goods and inform customer of any delays;
- Handle customer complaints and investigate delivery issues;
- Assisting finance and administration in timeous finding solution of any queries;
- Maintaining strong and long-term relationships with customer and transporters;
- Achieve the company’s transport strategy and commitments, effortlessly reaching the sales targets for the division;
- Identify and meet with potential clients by growing and maintaining your network;
- Meeting all deadlines.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**
- Grade 12;
- Related tertiary qualification (preference will be given to incumbents holding a Logistics or Marketing degree);
- A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in a transport, logistics or FMCG cargo environment;
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

**KEY COMPETENCIES**
- Strong leadership skills with above average intellectual ability;
- Comprehensive transport knowledge;
- Knowledge of transport cost and structures and geographic knowledge of the country;
- Extensive knowledge of the FMCG business and practices;
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to integrate with team members and a team environment;
- A resilient, passionate, energetic, and courageous person that can deal with ambiguity, conflict, and criticism;
- Knowledge of latest trends in transport and mode of transport;
- Deadline driven, with a sense of responsibility and urgency;
