Conduct vehicle pre-checks daily before departing from the depot
- Check sheets to be verified
- Replenish diesel and oil timeously at prescribed garages
- Keep the fuel card safe, ensure the card is never used by a third party
- Report immediately to the Transport and Logistics Coordinator if the fuel card is lost/stolen
- Complete weekly fuel roster on filling up at fuel station and return all petrol slips
- Report concerns regarding the roadworthiness of the trucks to Logistics Manager immediately - Complete a written report form.
- Take full responsibility for a vehicle at all times
- Adhere to traffic rules and regulations and control vehicle speed
- Treat customers with respect
- Maintain a professional image when on the customer’s premises and when out in Public wearing Macneil equipment or Macneil uniform
- Receive daily instructions regarding the route and product to be delivered as reflected on the trip sheet
- Check quantity and correct product before loading
- Supervise loading of truck - Co-ordinate loading the truck as speedily as possible and ensure space is used efficiently with weight distributed evenly
- Leave the depot by 6 a.m. daily and follow the route provided
- Ensure contactable at all times via radio contact or cell phone and return messages immediately if a call is missed
- On arrival at customer - check and verify products and quantities with customers. - Inform the customer to sign the delivery note with the driver present.
- Take responsibility for stock at all times.
- Take full responsibility for cash received from customers.
- Administer received cash to Transport and Logistics Coordinator
- Provide trip sheet to Paul to sign off
- Provide cash to be deposited in drop safe for safekeeping
- No alcohol to be consumed at any time when on duty or on overnight trips.
- On return from deliveries - Ensure all delivery documents are in order - Provide delivery documents (POD’s) to operators for debriefing - Submit all POD’s and relevant documentation on a daily basis. - Report discrepancies in documents immediately.
- Report any losses or damage to the Transport and Logistics Coordinator immediately
- Senior Certificate (Matric Grade 12)
- Driver’s License code 14

- 1 years experience as General Assistance within a Warehouse, 2 years experience as a Truck Assistant, 1 years experience driving code 10 (1 - 6 ton),
- 1 years’ experience driving code 10 (8 - 12 tons) Knowledge (what must I know):
- Sound product knowledge of Macneil product
- Transport regulations and operation of vehicles and equipment. Skills and Abilities (what must I be able to do / display)
- Ability to work under pressure
