What will you do?
This role exists in our Sanlam Corporate business’ Compliance function and focusses on the provision of assurance to the Sanlam Corporate Exco and Senior Management as well as within the Sanlam Group via various other functionaries, on the status of compliance and to highlight any compliance risks. What will make you successful in this role?

**You will be required to**:
Create and update annual compliance risk management plans and monitoring plans
Monitor compliance with applicable legislation and internal requirements:
Research and gather information on new legislation
Analyse proposed new legislation and provide input
Review client facing documentation to ensure alignment with legislative requirements
Present on legislative requirements and promote compliance culture
Manage legislative training and testing as required in terms of e.g. FAIS & FICA
Monitoring in terms of the agreed on monitoring plan
Establish and maintain procedures on the identification, reporting and resolution of breaches and other compliance and regulatory issues
Advise management, employees and clients on compliance and regulatory matters that may affect business decisions
Assist in developing, promoting, implementing and maintaining compliance standards and procedures that enable employees to act in a compliant manner
Manage compliance incident reporting, to ensure timeous escalation of compliance risks and incidents Qualification and Experience.
3-year experience in compliance and/or risk management. (Preferably as a FSCA registered compliance officer)
Applicable qualification as required for FAIS Compliance Officer registration (e.g. Legal or commercial degree)
Experience in the Financial Services Industry (especially with a focus on insurance and retirement fund administration) will be advantageous.
Compliance Practitioner designation (CPrac), Compliance Certificate, Regulatory Exam (RE1) or other relevant tertiary qualification would be an advantage. Knowledge and Skills
A thorough understanding and knowledge of compliance risk management and monitoring programmes.
A thorough understanding and knowledge of the regulatory requirements impacting on the businesses in Sanlam, specifically in the group insurance and fund administration area (e.g. PF Act, FAIS, FICA, LTIA, PPR, POPIA) will be advantageous.
Computer literate in MS Office.
