Field Services Project Manager

**Purpose of the Job**:
The Field Services Project Manager is responsible for the management and control of resources required for the deployment of hardware, software and configuration changes to store endpoints and infrastructure. An integral component of the role involves the allocation of tasks, advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring deployments are undertaken in accordance with organisational policy and standards.
**Job Objectives**:**
Endpoint Rollouts and Upgrades**
Plan, schedule, and coordinate resources across various disciplines.
Adhere to timelines and scope as agreed with business units.
Manage the relationship(s) with internal and external stakeholders.
Agree on the technical standards, and enforce the relevant processes and procedures during rollout.
Ensure processes and procedures are documented, shared, and understood by Field Services staff.
Ensure relevant stock is ordered, configured, and shipped to various divisions.
Consult Field Services to understand installations challenges and refine configurations.
Provide weekly management status reports.
**Vendor Management**
Work with external vendors should additional resourcing be required.
Inform and update vendors on changes being applied to the current landscape.
Define and agree on support processes with the vendor during the rollout phase.
Handover new and/or updated procedures to vendors post rollout.
**Budget Management**
Provide assistance to the Delivery Manager in developing an annual budget and operating plans to support the team and department.
Assist the Delivery Manager in managing costs and budgets for Cloud spending.
**People Management**
Support the Delivery Unit manager in leading the team.
Manage and mentor a high-performing team of engineers assigned to the project.
Set clear project goals and objectives to achieve the successful delivery of the project.
Oversee day-to-day challenges related to the project.
Ensure those team activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
**Collaboration**
Interface with other technical teams, vendors, and operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with IT Warehouse & Logistics, Field Services, Service Desk, Application teams, and their respective leaders across the Group, and develop a detailed understanding of their issues, challenges, and opportunities.
Collaborate with the IT Infrastructure and security groups to help ensure alignment with IT standards and initiatives.
Ensure the Service Desk is aware of changes during the rollout, and support procedures are updated.
**Qualifications**:**
Essential**
Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4
Formal qualification in Project Management, CompTIA A+Certification
**Experience**:
Up to 5 years
**Essential**
IT Field Services experience (at least 3-5 years)
Project Management (at least 2 years)
**Knowledge and Skills**:**
Essential**
Project Management Methodology
End point software engineering and development systems, best-of-breed open source technology
End point and software installations and configurations
