3-5 years surface coal mining experience

Competent A

Supervisory qualifications will be advantageous.

At least 1 year supervisory experience

Knowledge of Surface TMMS
- Comply with appropriate legislation, established methodologies and quality standards related to on-surface operations and mining
- Maintain a safe and efficient working environment
- Responsible for the use and maintenance of TMMs used during shift
- In collaboration with mine manager to plan work for the day
- Conduct site inspection to determine readiness for mining
- Plan and execute work to meeting production timelines and mining plans
- Direct the activities of the team, including defining and delegating work assignments
- Ensure all operators have the knowledge to work safely and efficiently

Ensure all workers are capacitated for work allocations for the day
- Conduct safety meetings to ensure operators are informed of safety and production needs and targets
- Conduct quality assurance checks (diesel consumption) against the checklist and accurately record the data
- Determine and record if the plant is working at capacity and recommend changes for optimal functions (using machine parameters)
- Ensure all targets are met for the day
- Escalate issues requiring knowledge about issues broader than area of responsibility to the mine manager
