As their operations expand, we are actively searching for a highly skilled and motivated **Operations Risk Manager** to join their dynamic team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement comprehensive risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to the company's road transport operations.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and meticulously analyse potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and financial exposures linked to transportation activities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with multiple teams to identify and prioritize risk mitigation strategies, monitoring their effectiveness once implemented.
- Ensure unwavering compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and industry standards, including stringent adherence to health and safety regulations and transportation laws.
- Oversee insurance coverage, claims, and other risk transfer mechanisms, optimizing risk retention and safeguarding against potential threats.
- Prepare comprehensive risk reports, presenting findings to senior management while offering actionable recommendations.
- Remain attuned to industry trends, best practices, and emerging risks to proactively tackle potential challenges head-on.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- **Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Business Administration, Logistics, Insurance, or a related field.**:

- Relevant certifications in risk management or transportation safety (preferred).

**Experience**:

- Proven track record as a Risk Manager or in a similar risk-related capacity within the transportation, logistics, or supply chain industry.
- Profound understanding of risk assessment methodologies and risk management frameworks.
- Proficiency in South African transportation industry legislation, regulations, and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with GIT (Goods in Transit) and contingent insurance.
- Strong analytical skills and a penchant for data-driven decision-making.
- Effective communication and interpersonal aptitude to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and a proven ability to drive change while fostering a safety-oriented culture.
- **Minimum of 5 years experience within a Transport environment.**:

- Solid grasp of road transport dynamics.
- Ability to adapt to diverse transport personalities in formal and informal contexts.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-player mindset.
- Analytical acumen.
