Procurement and logistics officer

Roles and responsibilities:

- Procurement:_
- Assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice
- Monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance, according to an appropriate Service Level Agreement, on a continuous basis
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and renegotiate prices on a regular basis
- Forecasting and managing consumables requirements and usage
- Ordering of consumables and raw materials
- Monitor delivery times to ensure they are on time
- Control and monitor expenses against approved budgets
- Reconcile or resolve order discrepancies with supplies
- Logistics:_
- Liaising with transporters (external and internal) to arrange dispatches and collections
- Ensuring that paperwork is accurately completed and filed
- Ensuring that pallets are correctly labeled and packed prior to dispatch
- Update the customers on the progress of their shipment
- Tracking transport cost vs recoveries
- Inform the warehouse clerk about collections arriving at the factory

**Education**:

- Matric
- Diploma in supply chain management (advantageous)

Skills and experience:

- 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience (advantageous)
- MS Excel knowledge
- Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
- Team player

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
