**Assistant Warehouse GM | Senior DC Manager**

**East Rand, Gauteng**

**Large Fast-moving DC, distributing across SA and Cross Border**.

**Criteria**:

- **8-10 years in Large Warehousing or DC environment (critical)**
- **National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or related (critical)**
- **Equally strong Operations Management skills and Administrative skills (critical)**

**Must have experience managing over 100 staff, with experience dealing with Shop Stewards & Unions (highly advantageous)**
- Analytical and creative thinker, process-oriented and focused on achieving successful completion of tasks collaboratively.
- Human resources and leadership skills are crucial, knowledge of disciplinary procedures.
- Experience with LEAN in a similar environment would be advantageous.
- Must have a strong customer service orientation
- Good negotiation skills.
- Quick learner and equally quick implementation of tasks.
- Health and Safety experience.
- Facility security experience.

**Daily functions**:

- Management of the regional distribution centre based in Gauteng.
- This function works across both Operations and Administration and the incumbent will provide supply chain expertise to optimise the functioning of the DC; of key focus is the efficient and effective management of stock movements from receipt at warehouse to delivery to the Group’s customers across SA, Swaziland, Namibia and Botswana, ensuring world class customer service and leading teams in a safe and high-functioning distribution centre.
- Prepare and monitor the implementation of an annual expense budget and ongoing expense control
- Planning of resources to match demand - staff, transport, equipment, packaging materials, etc
- Monitoring and managing KPI’s
- Drive operational continuous improvement
- Manage company assets
- Oversee core warehouse departments - Goods Receiving, Order Execution, Outbound Logistics
- Oversee support warehouse departments - Security, Inventory Management, Stock Recalls, Rework
- Facilities management - security, site maintenance
- Health and Safety
- Project Management
- Human Resources Administration
- Management of key service providers (quotes, payment approvals, quality inspection)
