**Overview**:
We’re looking for an individual who can join our team of data scientists and engineers to explore, prove and architect solutions utilising MathWorks’ software and Opti-Num’s services. You will engage closely with clients in diverse industries including aerospace/defence, finance, mining/manufacturing and education (possibly with a specific focus on one industry).

MathWorks develops the MATLAB and Simulink products and provides over 100 add-on products for technical computing, modelling and simulation used world-wide. Additionally, MathWorks is recognised as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Science and Machine Learning Platforms.

**What we’re looking for**:

- ** Keen interest in Technology **- Given the wide range of exposure to industries, tools and domains you will enjoy this job the most if you have a keen interest in technology in general, but leading-edge technology in particular.
- ** Driven and self-managing **- you should be able to manage your own time and objectives, asking for support when you need it. You will need to be effective at prioritising and juggling many tasks.
- ** Programming experience **- you will also be exposed to project development work so we’re looking for a minimum of 3 years industry experience writing code in MATLAB, Python, or a similar language. Experience with Simulink, C/C++ or VHDL is a plus.
- ** Teamwork **- you will collaborate with the sales team as well as peers on the technical team to define and execute a strategy for engaging with clients. Strong communication skills are essential for the teamwork required.
- ** Education** - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field. The work we do requires an understanding of linear algebra, so a strong focus on mathematics is essential, minimum to 2nd year, but preferably up to a 3rd year level. We’re looking for qualifications such as mechanical, electrical, chemical or computer engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, computational and applied maths, statistics, actuarial sciences, financial engineering, or financial mathematics. A Master’s degree or interest in pursuing a Master’s degree is great (we can help you with this).
