- The Supervisor of Sewing machine operators assists and guide Machinists to operate and tend sewing machines in order to perform garment sewing operations. This includes joining, reinforcing and decorating garments or parts of garments. Supervisors ensure that Sewing machine operators handle work on a large scale as they are required to operate and tend to industrial machineries. Sewing machine operators also adjust machine controls and regulate stitching speeds for every sewing project that they work on. It is important for sewing machine operators to possess in depth knowledge of sewing machinery and the garments industry. They also need to have sound hand-eye coordination and be able to cope with moderate physical effort. The Supervisor will ensure that the team follows rules and regulations. Supervisors sign receipt off cut work and record the completion of work. For style analysis the sample must be signed with the cut sheet. Pre
- planning must be done to achieve better production. There must be ongoing line balancing. Ensure the team observes care to get quality items out in time and meet targets.- Refer to production schedules for sewing garments and select appropriate materials
- Receive cut work. Check and sign receipt. Ensure that all materials and auxiliary supplies are available prior to beginning work
- Position materials under needles to sew them together or make patterns
- Sew missing stitches or replacement parts in accordance to repair instructions provided
- Must be able to thread machine
- Must know basic adjustment on the machine and acquire style analysis in order to do advance planning and arrange
- Line balancing with the Mechanic
- Must be able to read and write (English)**Inherent Requirements**

- 5 years experience as Machinist/quality checker
- Self management and career development
- Multi tasker with ability to work under pressure
