**Eastern Cape - Eastern Cape**: Our client is looking for a Head of Butchery and Operations to join the team.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
- At least 5-year proven butchery blockman experience
- Extensive experience as a Head or Manager of a reputable butchery or meat processing facility is essential.
- Certified Butchery Qualification
- Proven track record in sourcing and negotiating with farmers, suppliers, and abattoirs.
- Strong understanding of the meat industry, including cuts of meat, quality assessment, and food safety regulations.
- Proficient in supply chain management, planning, and forecasting.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to handle complex operations efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong leadership abilities to inspire and motivate a team of professionals.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Setting up initial supply chain at the company to source premium beef, lamb, chicken, and pork from reputable farmers and producers, leveraging a strong network and experience in the industry.
- Negotiate favourable pricing and terms with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality.
- Coordinate with abattoirs and provide clear instructions on specific cuts of meats based on customer orders, while adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Develop and execute strategic planning and forecasting for the supply chain, ensuring consistent availability of products to meet customer demands.
- Manage the packaging process of meat boxes, ensuring accurate and efficient packing while maintaining brand standards.
- Collaborate with delivery companies to ensure timely handover of packaged meat boxes and monitor delivery performance.
- Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures throughout all stages of the process to guarantee a consistent 100% quality standard and including full traceability of meat from farm.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the butchery team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
