SAVCA is looking for an energetic, service-orientated Head of Operations to join its small and close-knit team to support its work in promoting the private equity and venture capital industry in Southern Africa. As the Association continues to grow its Member and partner-base, the efficiency of processes and strength of its collaborations become a critical success factor.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Head, Operations will be responsible for managing SAVCA’s operational environment, with objective of ensuring that the organisation’s core functions are delivered efficiently, at the required quality level, time and within budget. This will entail establishing processes to ensure that the member value proposition, which comprises Networking events, Research and Training, is consistently enhanced to meet SAVCA Member expectations. S/he will oversee a small team and be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the operational environment, internal controls, fostering good relationships with partners and stakeholders and an environment of continuous improvement. An understanding of private markets will be an added advantage.

**ROLE DESCRIPTION**
- Translation of strategic objectives into operational plans;
- Ensure SAVCAs membership value proposition, which comprises networking events, research and training, is consistently enhanced to meet Member expectations;
- Adopting project management principles to ensure core projects are delivered at the required quality, time and within budget;
- Establishment of best practice processes to ensure the efficient execution of SAVCA’s core functions; and
- General operations management.

**About SAVCA**: The Southern African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (SAVCA) is a non-profit industry association, representing 180 members in Southern Africa, who collectively manage in excess of R205bn in assets.

SAVCA promotes Southern African private equity and venture capital by engaging with regulators and legislators on a range of matters affecting the industry; providing relevant and insightful thought leadership and research on aspects that impact the industry; offering training and capacity building opportunities to stakeholders in the ecosystem; and by creating meaningful networking opportunities for industry players, investors and capital seekers.

The association plays a meaningful role in the sector by:

**_Strategy and Operational Plan_**

Co-develop the action plans with the SAVCA CEO based on strategic objectives identified by the Board. Lead the development and monitoring of the operational budget. Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and corporate governance. Report progress on the business plan regularly to the CEO and at the quarterly board meetings. Work closely with the SAVCA board and sub-committees to identify and manage the execution of the various training, events, research, publications and related projects that form part of SAVCAs key focus areas, in accordance with budget and quality requirements. Evaluate and report on the implementation of the key focus areas.

- Continuously review and ensure SAVCA offers a compelling membership value proposition;
- Develop and implement strategies and processes to attract and retain association members;
- Execute processes to ensure efficient member onboarding, member management, accurate information and excellent coverage;
- Monitor member satisfaction and engagement levels, implement initiatives to enhance member value, and foster a sense of community within the association.

**_Research and Survey Reports_**

Oversee the Research and Communications Manager in the annual generation of the association’s initiatives, publications, and member communications. Collaborate with research teams and external partners to develop relevant thought leadership content and research publications. Ensure credible research is rolled out, within identified timeframes.
