CNC Lathe Operator

**Education (Formal Qualification Required)**

Minimum

Grade 12

**Training and Knowledge**

Minimum

Understanding of CNC machining processes, programming, and technical drawings. Proficiency in operating CNC lathe and milling machines. Always adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Handle machinery with care to prevent damage.

**Daily Tasks**

Setting of CNC Lathe and Milling machines.

Programming of machines where necessary.

Condition of all jigs.

Report problems with machinery to Supervisor.

Always do a dry run and first off part to ensure tolerance in accordance to drawing accuracy.

Ensure no extra programs on machine memory unless otherwise specified.

Read and understand specifications of the task by reading drawings.

Inform Supervisor of faulty programming.

Ensure that drawings and operators log are signed off when finished.

Pre-planning according to schedule to ensure mínimal downtime.

Ensure that all tools that are not used are sent back to storeroom.

All jobs processed must be done according to supplied schedule unless otherwise explained by the Section Head.

Ensure that jobs completed are sent to the next department immediately.

Ensure that all operators are wearing appropriate PPE.

Assist with training of the operators to ensure they are on standard when required.

Assist with the planning of materials required and fetching of materials as needed.

Control and maintain consumables usage.

Manage and monitor all quality and quantity produced from machines.

Constant monitoring of machines to ensure maximum productivity.

Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they are correct and up to standard.

**Housekeeping & organisation**

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas.

Ensure that materials are stored in designated locations.

**Team Collaboration**: Collaborating with other team members, such as production staff and Supervisor to complete tasks as instructed.

**Compliance**: Adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

**Discipline and General conduct**:Maintaining a high level of discipline, adherence to Company Policies.

**Reliable Attendance**: Employee must demonstrate a consistent and punctual attendance record.
