**Job Purpose**:
Performs specific mechanical activities supporting the colleagues and immediate superior during the maintenance and repair of vehicles and motor cycles.**
Key Responsibility Areas**:
Prepares the workshop and workhop equipment (e.g. operating hydraulic ramp, hoist etc) for the servicing, maintenance, repair of vehicles, motor cycles. Checks the levels of all relevant items such oil, brakefluid, gearbox oil, diff oil etc. Removes wheels for brake / brake cylinder inspection. Changes and replaces / fits repaired tyres onto vehicles / motor cycles Checks lights, indicators, brake lights etc. Assists with general repairs as well as servicing of motor vehicles. Complies with the provisions / prescriptions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including the wearing of all relevant safety clothing, safety boots etc. Sweeps and general cleaning of the workshop as well as washing / cleaning new and used spares with the required liquids.**
Essential Requirements**:
An appropriate level of primary education. 1 Month relevant experience.**
Preferred Requirements**:
An appropriate level of secondary education. 3 Months relevant mechanical experience.**
