**THE ORGANISATION**

Operated by AMANDLA, the Jabulani Development Precinct (“DLab”) consists of several components, and multiple partners, that play a complementary role in creating the platform for multi-sector collaboration, offering sustainable and holistic support for young people, their families and their communities. Precinct Collaboration is driven through a Collective Impact approach. **Safe-Hub** is an implementing partner within the Precinct, and a participant of the Collective.

**JOB SCOPE**

To address the massive challenges of poverty, inequality and unemployment South Africa needs significant and sustainable change at a local economic level. A combination of vision, creativity, practical business acumen, and an understanding of deep systemic change is required to make this happen.

The Jabulani DLAB Local Economic Development Manager will drive the implementation of a trail-blazing initiative aimed at building a self-reliant and vibrant township economy. Located within an ecosystem of youth and community development, the local economic development product will drive a community based process of change with a focus on increasing the flow of money flowing into local economies, building small, micro and medium size enterprises, creating decent work, and stimulating local spend. The role includes core tasks across the following:
1. Contribute to the ongoing review and development of the LED Product

2. Manage relationship with SMMEs, partners and service providers

3. Manage precinct rental facilities including the staff team and finances

4. Coordinate the delivery of Business Development Services

**THE CANDIDATE**

**Educational**:

- Grade 12 (required)
- Qualification/Certification in Commerce/General Management/HR Management (preferred)

**Experience and Skills**:

- Live in or near Jabulani and have an in depth understanding of the community (required).
- 3 year's work experience in Local Economic Development (required).
- 2 year’s work experience in facility rental management (required).
- Experience in financial management (required)
- Experience in managing people and the related policies and procedures (required).
- Experience in managing partnerships (required).
- Strong computer literacy and MS Word package skills (required).
- Experience with active community engagement and dialogue (required).
- Fluency in English (required).
- Proficiency in Sesotho and/or isiZulu (required).
- Code B driver’s license (required).

**Salary**: R30,000.00 - R40,000.00 per month
