National Manager: Learning Resources and Centres

**Eduvos** is looking to employ the services of a **National Manager: Learning Resources and Centres** at our** any of our national** Campus.
**The Position**:
- To enable and manage, develop and expand all campus resource centres and the Resource Centre Leads
Position Type:
- Permanent
**Minimum Requirements**:
**Minimum qualification**:
- Relevant Library/ Information Science Honours degree;
- Masters will be an advantage
**Experience**:
- At least five - ten years’ experience in higher education or related education and training environment;
- eLearning or eResource management; experience in budget development and management would be advantageous
- At least three years’ management and leadership experience
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Responsibilities**:
Accountable for the performance of the learning resources and centres
1.** Operational process outputs **:Develop, organize and maintain library collections
- Find and evaluate available digital and other information resources
- Coordinate print and electronic subscription requests
- Keep abreast of new developments and trends by reviewing publications, attending professional events and training provided by vendors
- Ensure that suitable and sufficient library resources exist which:
- Complement the curriculum.
- Provide incentives for students to learn according to their own needs, capacity and pace.
- Support appropriate professional and scholarly activities of students and staff involved in the programme
2. **Management**
**2**.1** Budget management**:Prepare and administer the budget for the faculty teams- Consult with various members of the academic team to establish needs for the annual budget (e.g., textbooks, systems license renewals, etc.)
- Prepare the budget
- Conduct monthly budget monitoring (expenditure)
- Conduct annual budget review
**2.2 Implementation through BUSINESS AND OPERATIONAL PLANS, goals and schedules**
**2.3 Implementation MONITORING, control, quality assurance and corrective action**:Monitor and distribute prescribed resources for all Eduvos programmes- Develop processes and monitor the ordering of prescribed resources
- Distribute prescribed resources
**2.4 Reporting**- Compiling of reports / presentations
- Understanding (analysing) and interpreting and acting / responding
**2.5 Workflow / alignment / silos / communication - for example, establish synergies**:Create community of practice- Create culture of sharing between campuses to enable standardization
- Enable functional areas through training (e.g. intellectual property rights, plagiarism detection systems and databases, academic research and information literacy)
- Promotes awareness of research resources, library services and learning opportunities
- Ensures staff development for library personnel takes place on a regular basis
**2.6 Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving**

**2.8 Operational efficiency and innovation - processes, systems, policies, governance / standards and measurement / compliance / methodologies / controls**:Establish, implement and review policies, processes and procedures- Create new policies/processes and procedures where needs are
- Review existing policies/processes and procedures as required
- Amend / update with relevant changes
- Ensure that Resource Centres are implementing the new/amended policies/procedures and processes
- Adhere to new/amended policies, processes and procedures
- Ensure all library policies align with the relevant CHE criterion, not limited to
- Policies exist for the proper management and maintenance of library resources, and for their continuous renewal and expansion.
- These policies are integrated into the institution’s financial plan.
- On
- and off-campus students have adequate library support and adequate access to library research and computing facilities.
