National Fleet Manager

**Generic Job Purpose**:
The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the effective running of the fleet within the region by ensuring the maximum number of serviced and reliable vehicles is available for deployment. The incumbent is also responsible for analysing all available fleet information to ensure optimal utilization of vehicles and report back to business.

**Minimum Experience**:

- Relevant Degree or three-year diploma - Fleet or Transport Management would be beneficial.
- Experience in large fleet essential.
- 5 years’ experience at Senior -Middle Management level.
- People Management experience with a proven track record of employee engagement and development.
- Stakeholder management.

**Key Performance Area 1 : service delivery**
- Ensure the implementation of best practice guidelines that support and encourage client service delivery excellence.
- Ensure sufficient vehicle resources to enable the business (all functions) to provide effective services to all customers.
- Ensure that standard operating procedures for the region are implemented and adhered to.
- Perform regular site visits and inspections to monitor compliance with client service level agreements and quality standards.
- Provide support to the business by ensuring annual performance plans are implemented within the set time frames.
- Maintain relationships between Fidelity Security Services and the vendor.
- Constantly evaluate vendor services levels provided and make recommendations to the client regarding the improvement of services.

**Key Performance Area 2 : Operations**
- Liaise with Branch, Operations Managers and Regional Fleet Managers concerning the running of their sub-fleets

- Monitor and provide feedback to Executives regarding National fuel consumption.
- Authorize the procurement and cancellation of fuel cards.
- Scrutinize fuel reports received from suppliers to ascertain correct fuel consumption.
- Sample controls of vehicle monitoring equipment to determine levels of excessive idling and advising management of the outcome.
- Liaising with management to leverage of best practices within Fleet division.
- Implement all fleet SOPs.

**Key Performance Area 3 : Forecasting, Budgeting and Financial Management**
- Assist in budget preparations aligned to the delivery of plans; monitor variances and report on the achievement of planned objectives, escalating deviations.
- Prepare reports for submission to relevant stakeholders monthly.
- Assist the business in achieving the budgeted financial targets by continuous service improvement and cost management, included but not limited to:

- Managing fuel consumption.
- Managing the vehicle related costs through reduction in incidents, costs, and the optimisation of resource deployment.
- Monitoring and managing all direct labour costs namely, overtime, absenteeism, training, excess leave, and staff turnover.
- Prepare for the purchase of capital items and assets (including lease vehicles).
- Plan and authorise the purchase of consumables and maintenance of vehicles for various regions.
- Asset management.
- Implement three quote system for all procurement.
- Work closely with the Finance department monitor expenditure and invoicing.
