DC Meat Wholesalers in Stikland are looking for a reliable **Maintenance Manager** to oversee all installations, repairs and upkeep of our meat production facility. The Maintenance Manager is responsible to ensure that all maintenance technician jobs/tasks, shifts and relative concerns are managed, overseen and attended to.

Experience and understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding and technical systems are a requirement to manage our maintenance tasks. The position requires an aptitude in undertaking administrative tasks such as maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, spare parts lists, checklists, job cards and all maintenance related documentation required to efficiently ensure all jobs are carried out properly.

The Maintenance Manager is ultimately responsible to ensure that all machinery, equipment, plant and infrastructure are maintained and kept to standard. The position requires coordination of technicians and respective parts for immediate attendance of breakdowns during and after hours.

The Maintenance Manager is required to have a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, interact and work with individuals and groups on all levels. Coordination of reports and respective jobs/tasks requires a tactful approach in communication between our retail store and departmental management which involves different conflicting personalities and challenges. Efficient leadership skills are required to ensure execution of tasks while maintaining synergy and calm between colleagues in a turbulent pressured environment.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintenance procedures and ensure efficient implementation,
- Ensure inspections and checklists are managed to identify and resolve issues,
- Develop healthy working relationships with maintenance technicians and colleagues for efficient execution of tasks,
- Strategically plan and oversee all repair and installation activities,
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep maintenance staff,
- Monitor and manage equipment inventory and place orders when necessary,
- Monitor expenses and strategically control the budget for maintenance repairs and parts,
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers,
- Keep maintenance logs, maintain preventative maintenance schedules and report on daily activities,
- Ensure health & safety and food safety policies and procedures are implemented.

**Requirements and skills**
- Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role,
- Experience in planning maintenance operations,
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems etc.
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment, butcher/meat processing equipment favourable,
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity,
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills,
- Excellent administrative skills,
- Excellent computer literacy,
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities,
- Matric certificate,
- Own Transport and valid drivers licence,
- Availability for after hour calls and duties as required.
