**Our client is a strategic communications and investor relations firm based in Illovo in Johannesburg. They have three core service offerings: strategy, investor relations and branding. Their clients are private and listed companies mainly within mining, renewable energy, oil & gas, technology, property, and financial services. They are looking for an Account Manager to join their team**:

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of clients including senior management.
- Manage and develop client accounts as a Lead contact; anticipate potential problem areas, devise solutions and communicate to client.
- Lead the development of effective PR strategies and programmes which support clients objectives
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of client positioning in the market and business objectives
- Liaise with journalists to maintain contacts and promote clients’ stories through appropriate media vehicles
- Handle clients' social media accounts such as their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn page
- Deliver analytics reports on social media
- Coordinate with designers, and any other service providers as required

**Requirements**:

- Education: Bachelors or advanced degree in communications, public relations, or media
- English language fluency: You need to have excellent written and spoken English and working knowledge of French being an asset.
- Copywriting skills: Excellent spelling, grammar, and proof-reading skills, as well as a creative flair for producing engaging copy.
- Presentation skills: From communicating ideas to your team to presenting stories to journalists, you need to organise information in a succinct and interesting way to capture their attention.
- Timekeeping: You will often be working to tight deadlines as well as meeting the demands and pressures of your team and clients, so you need to be able to work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality.
- Resilience: You need to be confident enough to pick up the phone to national journalists and resilient enough to handle criticism and rejection.
- Experience in PR & Communications: +5 years (required)
