Safety Officer

Real Tree requires the service of an experienced Safety officer to join their team.
Functions / Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Maintain and implement SHERQ system at the plant level, including but not limited to ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
Do SHERQ internal audit and assist with an external audit performance
Compile and update safety files.
Review and advice on health restrictions.
Compliance
Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to, regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
Ensure compliance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Compile and record letters of legal appointment.
Upload and Maintain documents on the SHEQhub system.
Management and Training
Minute, manage and devise the agenda for the Health & Safety committee meetings. (level 3 and 4)
Management and execution of safety standards.
Assess plant personnel based on SOPs for competency declaration.
Coordinate Real Tree functional/ generic training.
**Requirements**:
Matric or equivalent
Safety related qualification (SAMTRAC) will be advantageous
Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role
Good practical knowledge of Microsoft office
In-depth understanding on the principles of Risk Assessment
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 will be advantageous
COIDA and OHS Act knowledge
SHEMS experience
Knowledge of FPS standards and Life Saving Rules
A valid light vehicle driver’s license to travel to various regions.
