Materials Planner and Logistics Manager

**MATERIAL PLANNER AND LOGISTICS MANAGER**

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Materials Planner & Logistics Manager to ensure the appropriate supply of cost-efficient and high-quality materials required to maintain steady production and product delivery.

The successful individual will be responsible in managing all fabrics for the business to ensure fabrics are secured and available for all orders and projections recieved from various customers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Responsible for determining material specifications, creating and maintaining inventory schedules.
- Coordination with sales and production teams, by effective planning and managing fabric required, so that the production planner can run production with minimum disruption to fulfil customer order on time.
- Determining the required materials and submitting a requisition order.
- Ensuring materials meet specifications, quality standards and are cost-efficient
- Planning raw materials inflows by month based on customer requirements and projections considering critical paths, minimum order quantities and buffer stocks.
- Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of material neccesary for production.
- Scheduling and overseeing the supply and delivery of materials and products.
- Management of external stakeholders relationships.
- Understanding and keeping abreast of shipping challenges that may impact critical path.
- Close Liaison with the Sourcing Manager - requisition of fabric orders, ensuring timeous placement of orders.
- Responsible for tracking orders once placed to ensure timeous delivery and availability of fabrics in line with requirements.
- Regular meetings with key account managers to discuss their requirements and management of their fabrications.
- Liaising with Customers, suppliers and distributors.
- Managing inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
- Manage usage and approvals of fabric management to the business, including stock levels, stock cover, redundant stocks, deliveries, etc.
- Manage stock levels and accuracy of stocks with fabrics stores management.

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary Qualification in inventory management, logistics, business or related field preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing or related position.
- Understanding of critical path within a têxtile manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
- Logical, highly numerate and ability to make sound decisions.
- Advance MS excel skills.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong leadership qualities
- Deadline driven and ability to work in pressurized environment.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in microsoft Office and materials management systems.
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
