Tax Manager

We are looking for a seasoned Tax and Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in Durban.

**The Role**: As a Tax and Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing our tax and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and providing expert advice to our diverse clientele. Your responsibilities will include preparing and submitting income tax returns, provisional taxes, VAT, lodging disputes with SARS, bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and advising on salary structuring and tax obligations for both resident and non-resident taxpayers.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of income tax returns, provisional taxes, VAT, and other tax-related documents.
- Handle bookkeeping for various entities and prepare financial statements for compilation purposes.
- Advise on tax planning, salary structuring, and optimization strategies for directors and employees.
- Engage in financial reporting and analysis to support business decisions.
- Lead and resolve disputes with SARS, ensuring compliance and minimizing financial risks.
- Provide guidance on the tax obligations of non-resident taxpayers.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, ensuring high standards of accuracy and compliance.

**Requirements**:

- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Tax, or related fields.
- Professional certification is desirable.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax and accounting roles, with a proven track record of success with companies, resident tax payers, and non-resident tax payers.
- Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Pastel).
- Excellent knowledge of SARS E-filing.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the skill to advise and interact effectively with clients and team members.
