Duties/PligteReceiving, processing and storing routine biological specimens in BSL2 laboratory (e.g., blood, urine, sputum, saliva) for various clinical research projects;- Receiving, processing and storing disease specimens in BSL3 laboratory for various clinical research projects' routine and advanced processing;- Coordinating the laboratory aspects of ongoing research studies, as well as study start-up as required (including QC of lab forms, troubleshooting, attending to
queries from collaborators and PIs, preparing reports, etc.);Assisting with staff and student training as needed;- Isolation of PBMCs and other cell types, ELISA, GeneXpert (various);- Preparing and reviewing standard operating procedures and laboratory forms, as needed;- Specimen logging on LIMS/project-specific databases;- Performing administrative tasks (e.g., filing, stock taking, ordering, etc.);- Performing scheduled after hours work if needed.
Job Requirements/Pos VereistesMSc degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with a minimum of one year's relevant working experience in an ISO accredited laboratory,

**_ OR_** BSc Honours degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with at least three years' relevant working experience in an ISO accredited laboratory;Experience in mammalian cell culture;- Experience with ELISAs and/or flow cytometry;- Willingness and medically fit to work with infectious human specimens in BSL3;- Proficiency in LIMS / freezer inventory system and sample storage;- Knowledge of ISO 15189, or 17025 guidelines.
Recommendation/AanbevelingExperience working in a Biosafety level 3 laboratory;- Valid GCP certificate;- Knowledge of IATA and/or Dangerous Goods regulations;- Own transport for after-hours work.
