Duties/Pligte 1. Teaching support:
a. Providing support to academic staff for the preparation of practicals and lecture notes;
b. Supporting academic staff in the basic administration of undergraduate modules.

2. Research support:

- a. General laboratory manager duties:

- i. Providing support to academic staff in the research environment with the financial management and general administration of cost centres;
- ii. Ordering research materials and paying service providers;
- iii. Maintaining inventories and instrumentation.

b. Support with postgraduate research projects:
i. General research assistance to postgraduate students¿ research projects;
ii. Ensuring that students adhere to safety regulations.

3. Departmental support:
a. Managing assigned shared spaces;
b. Participating in undergraduate as well as postgraduate practicals.

1. Onderrig-ondersteuning:
a. Ondersteun akademiese personeel met die voorbereiding van praktika en lesing notas;
b. Ondersteun akademiese personeel met die basiese administrasie van voorgraadsemodules.

2. Navorsings-ondersteuning:
a. Algemene laboratorium bestuurder funksies:
i. Ondersteun die akademiese personeel in die navorsingsomgewing met die finansiële bestuur en algemene administrasie van kostepunte;
ii. Bestel navorsingsmateriaal en betaal die diensverskaffers;
iii. Byhou van voorraadlyste en toerusting.

b. Ondersteuning met nagraadse projekte:
i. Algemene navorsingsondersteuning aan nagraadse studente se navorsingsprojekte;
ii. Verseker dat studente voldoen aan veiligheidsriglyne.

3. Departementele-ondersteuning:
a. Bestuur van toegewysde gedeelde spasies;
b. Deelname aan voorgraadse sowel as nagraadse praktikas.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- BScAgric degree or BScHons in Genetics or Plant Biotechnology;
- Experience in the execution of molecular biology-based experiments;
- Effective organisational, administrative and presentation skills;
- The ability to work in a group as well as independently.

- BScAgric graad of BScHons in Genetika of Plantbiotegnologie;
- Ervaring in die uitvoer van molekulêre biologie-gebaseerde eksperimente;
- Effektiewe organisatoriese vermoë, sowel as administratiewe en aanbiedingsvaardighede;
- Die vermoë om in groepsverband asook onafhanklik te funksioneer.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office 365 software;
- A valid Code B driver's licence.
