**Overall responsibilities**
- Making and receiving calls from clients, experts, courts and third parties.
- Keeping a clear and accurate note of all calls on our case management system.
- Accurately logging time worked on all files and maintaining excellent time utilisation.
- Pro-actively progress files in accordance with the Pre-action Protocol l.
- Drafting standard letters to client, experts, medical agencies, and Defendants.
- Drafting technical letters of advice to clients with adequate support from supervisor.
- Drafting technical letters of instruction to agencies / experts with adequate support from supervisor.
- Assisting in the collation of the full evidential spectrum to support liability and quantum investigations.
- Taking and drafting witness statements.
- Updating ATE insurers and complying with ATE requirements.
- Diary management.
- Processing disbursement payments.
- Providing support to qualified members of the team.

**Requirements for a** **paralegal**:

- Paralegal with hands-on experience in handling claimant or defendant clinical negligence cases. Those with a strong personal injury background will also be considered.
- Able to independently manage and prioritise allocated tasks, and to progress pre
- and post-issue clinical negligence cases with adequate technical support and supervision from senior team members.
- Understand the importance and be able to support the handling of cases from inception through to completion, while delivering a personal, compassionate, tailored and client focused service.
- Able to confidently use cloud-based case management systems, virtual office software and Microsoft Office.
- Able to confidently liaise with medical agencies, healthcare providers and experts.
