Route and Training Supervisor

**Driver training**:

- Conduct pre-employment driving assessments according to company SOP.
- Implement and maintain industry related theory training and assessment as part of pre-employment.
- Drivers to be trained bi-annually according to SQAS & RTMS guidelines.
- Driver matrix to be kept up to date with training conducted and refresher training due date.
- Driver PRDP expiry list to be kept on record and ensuring drivers renew driver licenses timeously.
- Driver medicals to be conducted during pre-employment process and expiry date to be kept on a matrix to ensure timeously renewals.

**Site coordination**:

- Coordinates inbound and outbound trucks on loading sites to achieve optimum loading and offloading time.
- Acts on instructions from immediate manager to assist with communication to drivers on sites.
- Abide by loading and offloading sites rules and procedures.
- Ensure drivers adhere to SHERQ policies and SOP’s of company and loading/offloading sites.
- Loading and offloading time to be monitored and reported back to office.
- In case of delays or breakdowns on sites, communicate to the controller at the depot to reroute to alternative sites.
- Report any non-functional equipment/ infrastructure at sites (Loaders, weighbridges, security, tarpaulin staff etc).

**On road supervision**:

- Monitor drivers on road to ensure they operate safely and according to road traffic act. Report all non-compliance with photos/statements or videos taken so action can be taken.
- Monitor drivers in towns through C-track/tracking to eliminate unauthorized stops and report to relevant controller at depot.
- Monitor trucks to ensure drivers are not transporting passengers and give proof to depot controller if passengers are loaded.
- Conducts visual external inspection for notable/obvious damages to trucks and trailers and report to controllers.

**Communication**:

- Communicate status of operational activities on sites to operations team.
- Provide regular updates of trucks loading and offloading times at sites via WhatsApp groups / calls/ messages.
- Report poor performing drivers to operations team with proof.
- Report sites delays and breakdowns so trucks can be rerouted.

**Time and motion studies**:

- Conduct various time and motion studies when on sites by recording all actions and times from truck’s arrival time until exit time at site.
- Monitor driver’s turnaround time from the time the trucks leave the site, until return.
- Record queuing times, weighbridge time, loading time, delays, tarpaulin closing/opening time, shift change times etc.
- Each action at a loading and offloading site to be recorded that impacts the drivers’ loading time.

Pay: R24 000,00 per month
