**JOB PURPOSE.**

Responsible to assist, manage and schedule all aspects relating to transporting cargo for clients, which include, effective communication with both drivers as well as relevant clients etc.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OR TASKS.**
- Responsible for communication with drivers.
- Responsibly ensuring that cargo gets offloaded at the set destination and arranging for an empty truck to receive cargo to load for the next destination.
- Assist both drivers and allocated clients.
- Attending to and resolving any queries that might occur with the client’s cargo.
- The timeously and daily update of night schedules, before the start of the dayshift.
- Assist with company disciplinary matters, by either investigating occurrences, initiating or testifying at/in a disciplinary inquiry if/when required (this includes testifying at the bargaining council or CCMA).
- Comply with all company policies and Procedures at all times.

All fleet controllers are responsible to manage certain clients, dedicated trucks and specific responsibilities allocated to specific areas (regions). These responsibilities may vary and alter depending on the needs of the clients as well as the development/progression of the company.

**SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS.**
- Ability to organize, delegate and meet strict deadlines.
- Demonstrate high levels of quality, focus and attention to detail.
- Consist ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of Microsoft-related programs.
- Bilingual (English & Afrikaans).

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION.**
- National Matric Certificate (Grade 12).
- 2 years experience as a fleet controller.
- Previous experience in the transport industry (advantage).
