**Professor Early Childhood Education**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A teaching qualification.
- At least 9 years’ experience in higher education
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of Early Childhood Education
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
- Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research
- Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures)

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor
- Secure external research grants and establish research programs
- Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows
- Establish institutional, national and international collaborations
- Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff
- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
- Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels

**Associate Professor: Early Childhood Education**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A teaching qualification
- At least 7 years’ experience in higher education
- Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of Early Childhood Education
- A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters and/or Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Professor

**Added Advantages**
- Qualification/courses in higher education teaching and learning
- Evidence of successful external fundraising for research.
- Some standing as a scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).
