**Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer: Physical Sciences Education (1 Post)**

**Associate Professor: Physical Sciences Education**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A recognized teaching qualification with specialization in Physical Sciences
- At least 7 years’ experience in higher education
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of in Physical Sciences
- Education
- A record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Prof
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters/Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Associate Prof.

- Evidence of successful external fundraising for research.
- Evidence of supporting early career academics.
- Recognition in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating).

**Duties**:

- Participate in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules
- Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of senior lecturer level
- Secure external research grants
- Supervise postgraduate students
- Establish institutional, regional or national collaborations
- Contribute to mentorship of emergent academic staff
- Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research
- Participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university levels

**Senior Lecturer: Physical Sciences Education**

**Minimum Requirements**:

- A relevant Doctoral Degree
- A recognized teaching qualification with specialization in Physical Sciences
- At least 5 years’ experience in higher education
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in the area of in Physical Sciences
- Education
- A record of accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters/Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer.
