**Desktop and Systems Administrator**

**Introduction**

An industry-leading Solutions provider is looking to appoint an experienced and innovative Systems Administrator to join their team.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Install and maintain equipment and software
- Maintain and upgrade equipment as needed
- Remotely diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account and server setup plus network configurations
- Ask staff or customers targeted questions to quickly understand the root of the problem
- Mail exchange administration
- Setup and maintain VPN’s
- Support above tasks for current staff (e.g. reset MS password if needed)
- Help to install new Microsoft (e.g. visio)
- Assist with staff PC performance issues
- Configure firewalls for new or existing customers
- Train new employees to use a company’s software and apps
- Respond to ad hoc and urgent requests
- Properly escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal team
- Advise executives on the best technological solutions for an organisation
- Monitor the performance of a company’s desktop infrastructure and provide suggestions to improve efficiency
- Train end users when new software or IT regulations arrive at a company
- Maintain and administer cloud apps, like Azure, Office 365
- SSL certificate renewal
- Manage backup solutions, Server, Desktop environments, virtual environments

**Experience required**
- Relevant diploma or bachelor’s degree in IT. Computer Science, Information Systems or related (advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, in dealing with people at all levels of the organization
- Intellectual curiosity, passion for problem-solving, and comfort with ambiguity
- Ability to take initiative and execute against key projects
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment while juggling multiple responsibilities

**What it would take to succeed**:

- Previous experience of working onsite & remotely providing Desktop Support
- Excellent customer-centric communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to follow tasks through to completion
- Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues.
- Excellent team working mindset; knowledge share, collaborative mindset
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making skills alongside excellent planning and organisation
- Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
- Good knowledge and experience in Microsoft Desktop Software and Operating Systems
- An understanding of network protocols, server hardware and configurations or other IT qualification
- Experience with any cloud apps, like Azure, Office 365
- Experience with any backup solutions, Server and Desktop environments
- Understanding of virtual environments
