Restaurant Hostess

**Overview**:
**Shift Schedule**:

- Three days a week, between Tuesday and Saturday: 11:00 to 21:00 (Sunday would be 11:00 to 16:00)

**Compensation**:

- Hourly rate: R90.00 per hour
- Option for tip sharing

**Responsibilities**:
1. Greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.

2. Show guests to their tables and present menus.

3. Manage the seating chart to ensure efficient table turnover and proper distribution of guests across sections.

4. Assist guests with any special requests or accommodations.

5. Answer phone calls and take reservations, providing accurate information about availability and restaurant policies.

6. Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the hostess station and lobby area.

7. Collaborate with the waitstaff and management to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.

8. Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.

9. Assist with printing and updating menus as needed, ensuring an adequate supply of menus is available for guests.

**Qualifications**:
1. At least three (3) years' experience in a customer service role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

3. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.

4. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

5. Professional appearance and demeanour.

6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

7. Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills are a plus.

8. Bilingual (Afrikaans, English)

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R90,00 per hour
