Financial Group Controller

**Finance Processes, Procedures and Reporting**:

- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records and financial systems, identify opportunities to enhance system efficiencies and controls;
- Ensure adherence to processes for reconciling Intercompany balances monthly, VAT and WHT. Ensure that these are reconciled and agreed to SAP
- Design and implement procedures and processes that promote a strong internal control environment and control culture
- Monitor compliance to the required procedures and processes.
**Finance Planning**:

- Partner with the Group Reporting and FP&A team to support planning process and alignment between
Management Reporting and Statutory Reporting.

**Financial Governance**:

- Responsibility for coordinating the annual audit for legal entities (as required) between the auditors and internal staff; with guidance and ensuring relevant preparation of supporting schedules and timetables for internal staff prior to the audit.
- Ensure country statutory obligations are met for reporting and governance purposes.
- Responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the Balance Sheets for all entities and Balance Sheet
Commentary.
- Ensure proper monthly balance sheet reconciliations are carried out and reviewed for all entities.
- Driving and agreeing any financial and accounting policy requirements with the CFO, and Commercial Finance teams. Review and update, in line with good practice, the internal control environment and produce Controls and Procedures to guide accounting practices and financial controls.
**Tax Governance**:

- Ensure all taxes filing requirements are kept up to date in the markets in which we operate;
- Track, monitor and report on our tax compliance per requirements of the countries we operate in.
- Liaise with tax consultants to ensure compliance deadlines are met;
- Track and report any tax penalties incurred;
- Ensure calculation of Tax accruals, and monthly reconciliation of VAT, WHT and Deferred Tax.
- Develop and manage Transfer pricing and or inter-company services agreements;
**B**anking and Funding: *
- Manage the process for Payment Approvals and Daily Banking requirements;
- Ensure Cash forecasts are performed to ensure that there is adequate funding available for payments;
- Ensure adherence to Excon process for any foreign payments from any banking account across the business.
**Internal Financial Controls**:

- Implement Reconciliation Control Sheets to track and confirm completion of all key reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis;
- Track and monitor completion of reconciliations, and report on any exceptions;
- Perform checks on key financial controls and report on exceptions; Track, monitor and review banking access rights, and ensure adequate segregation and that users to do not have conflicting access rights;
**People Management**:

- Build, lead and motivate a diverse and effective team. Empower team members to take responsibility and accountability.
- Convey messages and ideas clearly and openly. Involve people and influence decisions.
- Supervise and review performance of individuals in the team.
**Technology**:

- Evaluate system processes procedures and suggest system enhancements to further automate and improve efficiencies.
**S**ucc**ess Measures**:
**S**ucc**ess in this role will be measured through defined targets as follows**:

- Management and statutory reporting are accurate, technically correct, timely and robust including month end and year end close cycle metrics.
- Policies and procedures are documented, complied with, relevant, reviewed bi-annually and complete.
- Internal and external audit highlights which controls are robust and effective.

**Salary**: R80,000.00 - R120,000.00 per month
