**Job Advert Summary**:
The primary purpose of a Valve / Site Technician is to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, repair, and installation of the Smith Lock Systems. This role involves providing efficient and effective technical support to clients on technical products.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Matric / Grade 12 or technical certificate essential.

Engineering Diploma/Certificate-Advantageous

Technical Drawing-required.

Must be able to use engineering measuring instruments

Must design Smith Lock sleeves and base plates to manufacturing standards/level

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites, including those outside South Africa, as required.

Minimum 2 years’ service in Engineering/Manufacturing/Production/Oil & Gas industry

Excellent communication skills, fluent in English

Computer literate - preparing excel spreadsheet, detailing product in the plant.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Knowledge of the fluid Control products, interlocks will be an advantage.

Proficient in reading technical drawings, sequence diagrams, and installation manuals.

Must be prepared to work overtime and be on standby if required, including day and night shift whenever required

Comfortable working at heights

Knowledge of SHEQ.

The Role require the Technician to be based in Secunda (Mpumalanga) or surrounding area.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Position is based at SASOL Secunda

Install, set up, and configure Smith locks systems according to specifications and project requirements.

Conduct site assessments to determine the most effective placement and installation of interlocking devices, taking into consideration safety regulations and operational needs as per the client requested.

Estimating the amount of material, equipment, and labor required for execution of task(s) in hand.

Perform integration of smith locks devices, ensuring proper sequence and functionality within the existing infrastructure. Conduct thorough testing of installed interlocks, verifying their proper operation and functionality.

Identify and troubleshoot any issues or malfunctions, taking appropriate corrective measures.

Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality.

Effecting changes to site jobs schedules to ensure that deadlines are met.

Perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs on installed interlocks to ensure their ongoing reliability and effectiveness..

Maintain accurate documentation of all installation and maintenance activities, including records of interlock configurations, sequence diagrams, maintenance logs, QCP’s, and service reports.

Provide training and technical support to clients and end-users on the proper operation of interlocking systems.

Ensure all relevant documents (JCE, Work Permit) are singed and submitted to Sales office once the job is completed.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to enhancing installation procedures and service quality.

Ensure housekeeping and SHEQ requirements.
