She Manager

A large Food manufacturer situated in Stikland, Cape Town is seeking a SHE Manager.

**Purpose**

To develop, implement, and maintain the Safety, Health, and Environmental systems for the company, ensuring legal compliance with all applicable legislation while minimizing and mitigating risks for the company and its employees.

**Key Performance Outputs**
- _**Development and Implementation**:_
- Ownership, development, and implementation of the SHE Management System
- Emergency and crisis management plans.
- Environmental monitoring plans and footprint reduction initiatives
- _**Compliance and Audits**:_
- Ensuring adherence to all legal SHE requirements and standards.
- Conducting internal and external audits across Departments and following up on deviations.
- Overseeing SOP compliance, job observations, and safety registers
- _**Engagement and Liaison**:_
- Coordinating SHE meetings and ensuring adherence to schedules.
- Liaising with local authorities, suppliers, and government departments.
- _**Management and Oversight**:_
- Managing the OHS Clinic, including medical surveillance and IOD reporting.
- Monitoring and reviewing SHE progress
- Drawing up and managing central SHE and OHS Clinic budgets.
- _**Training and Culture Development**:_
- Conducting mandatory EHS training for all employees annually.
- Driving the development of a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Identifying and organizing training needs.
- _**Risk and Hazard Control**:_
- Performing hazard identification and risk assessments for new equipment or structural changes.
- Coordinating occupational hygiene and environmental surveys.
- _**Reporting and Communication**:_
- Preparing and communicating DIFR reports and safety deviations.
- Sharing relevant safety information with employees and management teams.

**Qualifications & Skills Required**:

- Environmental Management Certificate or Diploma will be advantageous'
- Safety Management Certificate - SAMTRAC or B Tech Degree/Diploma
- Auditor Certificate (SAATCA) will be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of applicable SHE legislation and standards.
- Proven experience in managing SHE systems in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Excellent organizational, auditing, and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety programs.
