**_ Job responsibilities:_**
- To proactively manage and efficiently process a portfolio of third party claims.
- Contacting policyholders, witnesses, Third Party Insurers to assess and agree liability. Informing policyholders of the claim process and managing expectations as and when required.
- Reserving in line with reserving philosophy.
- Reviewing estimates/invoices and arranging engineering or outsourced assessments where required
- Checking and raising payments in line with reserves.
- Basic assessment of litigation documents and instruction legal suppliers both defendant and dispute cases.
- Managing highways, rail, street furniture and property damage claims / outsourcing to suppliers where required.
- Handle inbound phone calls
- To carry out duties, activities and tasks as directed within the Claims and Fraud pillar to ensure all departments perform effectively and efficiently and meet the demands of First Central’s customers and any third parties
- Working from both the subrogation and credit hire portals when required.

**_ Experience & knowledge_**
- Experience within third party damage claims
- Some knowledge of case law.
- Knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority requirements and the regulatory framework relating to claims
- Good knowledge of vehicle types
- Good knowledge of motor claims handling
- An understanding of fraud controls
- Understanding of the vulnerable customers
- An understanding of the FCA consumer duty rules
