We are recruiting a **French Speaking Senior Development Consultant with a special interest in development, farmer and processor business capacity.**

Full time, based in Durban South Africa

**The Job**

In this role you will be responsible for the management and implementation of development projects in a number of African countries for international donor projects such as the World Bank-IFC, GiZ, The Netherlands Enterprise Agency, Teagasc Ireland and various Embassies.

This role asks for learning and capacity development experience as we are looking to strengthen this skill set for current projects.

This job includes:

- **Project implementation**: You will oversee a variety of projects such as value chain analysis, business case development, sector strategy development, value chain benchmarking etc. This includes leading local teams in Africa and global experts. You will also be responsible for qualitative interviews, desk & field research, analysis and reporting, business modelling, client workshops, etc.
- **Training and capacity development**: Design and manage training and capacity development projects and programs
- farmer training and extension, processor training, business coaching, marketing skills development etc.
- **Global linkages**: Engage with the private sector and other stakeholders in importing countries to conduct market research, lead investment promotion and sourcing missions, roundtables, etc.
- **Business/partnership development**: Develop relationships with the private sector, sector associations, knowledge centres, etc.
- **Enterprise development and capacity building**: Assess and develop business cases
- market research, business modelling, business plans, coaching of entrepreneurs, sector roundtables etc.
- **New business development**: You will work with senior team members to develop client relationships, draft project proposals and design development projects and programs.

**What You Bring**
- Min 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Relevant Master’s degree level qualification (agricultural economics, Commerce, MBA, agronomy etc.)
- Consulting and project management experience
- Practical experience in agri-processing and food manufacturing. For example as supply chain managers, production managers, marketing and strategy etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- French and English is required, with Portuguese a valued addition.
