Senior B-bbee Verification Analyst

Responsible for conducting comprehensive B-BBEE verifications and ensuring compliance with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Codes of Good Practice. In-depth analysis, auditing, and evaluation of clients' B-BBEE status, advising clients on optimising their B-BBEE strategies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of verification processes. Work closely with clients to guide them through the verification process, provide expert advice on B-BBEE scorecard elements, and prepare detailed verification reports.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. **Verification and Assessment**:

- Conduct detailed B-BBEE verification audits across all scorecard elements, including Ownership, Management Control, Skills Development, Enterprise and Supplier Development, and Socio-Economic Development.
- Analyse client documentation, perform due diligence, and verify supporting evidence against B-BBEE Codes and sector-specific requirements.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance in assessments to provide credible B-BBEE scorecard ratings.

2. **Client Consultation and Support**:

- Engage with clients throughout the verification process, providing expert guidance on meeting B-BBEE requirements and optimising scorecard outcomes.
- Interpret complex B-BBEE codes and advise clients on compliance gaps and potential improvement areas.
- Conduct client workshops and training sessions on B-BBEE requirements and effective scorecard management.

3. **Reporting and Documentation**:

- Prepare comprehensive and accurate B-BBEE verification reports, including findings, observations, and recommendations.
- Maintain meticulous records and ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards and is ready for audits by regulatory bodies such as SANAS.
- Review and approve verification reports for junior analysts, ensuring adherence to quality standards and accuracy.

4. **Risk Management and Compliance**:

- Identify risks and inconsistencies in B-BBEE scorecards, maintaining objectivity and independence in assessments.
- Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry trends related to B-BBEE compliance.
- Ensure that all verification processes adhere to SANAS requirements, including the latest updates to B-BBEE codes and sector charters.

5. **Mentorship and Team Support**:

- Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts, sharing knowledge on best practices and assisting with complex verifications.
- Lead verification projects and manage timelines, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to deadlines.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance verification methodologies, tools, and internal processes for improved efficiency and accuracy.

6. **Continuous Improvement**:

- Contribute to the refinement of verification processes and tools, including checklists, reporting templates, and assessment guidelines.
- Participate in team reviews, knowledge sharing sessions, and development of thought leadership materials on B-BBEE best practices.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- **Educational Background**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in B-BBEE Verification, Auditing, or Compliance will be advantageous.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in B-BBEE verification or consulting, with in-depth knowledge of the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.
- Experience working with SANAS-accredited verification agencies is preferred.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of B-BBEE scorecard elements, sector charters, and SANAS requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and perform financial analysis in relation to B-BBEE elements.
- **Interpersonal Skills**:

- Excellent client relationship management and consulting skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Attention to detail and analytical skills to assess and verify data accurately.
